i love to travel but i really hate packing and unpacking. i devised a little method to help pack quickly and easily.
don't just start grabbing items, it's better to have a set vision of how you will pack. this will actually benefit you in the end- you're less likely to bury something you will need during travel under piles of clothes.
make a list
organize into categories- these are just an outline, feel free to add or subtract as needed
for car/plane/train/bus ~ headphones, phone, sunglasses, glasses, wallet, book, magazine, snacks, etc.
beauty ~ pack everything you need but avoid excess amounts, beauty packing can easily get crazy
bath and body ~ shower gel, moisturizer, cleanser, shampoo, conditioner, etc.
clothes ~ you might want to organize this into a smaller categories, as well
shirts, pants, pajamas, dresses/skirts, underwear, outerwear
shoes
books/school work ~ always pack your planner, you never know what dates you may need to remember. include an extra book in case you finish your carry-on. bring any homework or studying information
what to pack in the morning ~ put this on a list you can easily see in the morning and preferably place anything in an open place so you don't forget a single thing.
laptop, chargers, phone, makeup you'll put on the morning of the trip, water, refrigerated snacks
make sure to charge everything the night before, you don't want to miss a flight or postpone a road trip just because your battery is low.
packing light is hard when you want to be fully prepared. the trick is to take note of what is easily replaced- if you know you're going to need to wear a dress, pack two just in case. but don't overpack little things like underpants, those can easily be purchased once you have arrived at your destination.
stay healthy and beautiful,
mad
