pesto is one of my most loved dishes- not just because it tastes absolutely amazing but also because it's so easy to make.
ingredients
1 1/2 cups fresh basil
1 1/4 cups walnuts (or other pine nuts)
1/2 cup olive oil
6 cloves of garlic (add or subtract, depending on your taste preferences)
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 package of pasta
directions
combine ingredients in food processor until fine but not totally smooth
boil water, cook pasta until ready
stir pesto with pasta
grate cheese (my favorite is pecorino) onto, optional
notes
this can be frozen for up to 2 months
