now that it's getting warmer out, it's difficult to boil water every morning for oatmeal, though it is my go-to breakfast. one of my new favorite things to make in the morning is a smoothie bowl. it's like oatmeal in that it's totally customizable and can change from day to day, based on my mood. i change up my recipe usually but this is the most common bowl i make:
ingredients
1 cup frozen mixed berries
1/2 cup almond milk
1/2 banana (can be ripe or over-ripe)
any protein or vitamin powders you may want (I love orange Emergen-C of Berry Vega)
toppings
granola
black and white chia seeds
rest of banana, sliced
1 tbsp peanut butter
directions
blend mixed berries, almond milk, banana, and powders in blender on smoothie setting
top with granola, chia seeds, banana, and peanut butter, in any pattern (instagram is a great place for pretty breakfast inspiration)
